A little bit about the albums...

Millbrig (2017)
by Millbrig
The first album by Millbrig is aptly named Millbrig. Gentle all-original folk songs written and sung by Penny. These have a timeless quality, yet reflect life's experience. Steve sings Old Soldier, an anti-war lament, empathising with those adversely affected by serving in conflict. Song for Syria, could just as easily apply to Ukraine or Gaza, today. Tracks are:
Tall, Dark, Handsome Stranger
Time for You
Bound for America
Battlefield
Old Soldier
Shadows of Summer
Strings
The Ferryman
Song for Syria
A Small Ray of Light
Rue the Day

Begin Again (2026)
by Millbrig
Millbrig's third album, Begin Again, is currently in progress. So far there are three released tracks lined up for it (see below) , and we are experimenting with six tracks which are works in progress in the studio. The impediments as usual are interference from external sources and lack of time - both of which conspire to interrupt our artistic flow.

Begin Again (2025)
by Millbrig
The first track released in 2025, is Begin Again. Yes, there was a long gap before this one, but Millbrig has bounced back with this jaunty little almost sixties number. Thanks to Christabel Wells, down in Bristol, for her hip artwork! The track is about not being beaten down by life, even when the system persists in trying to dis-empower you.

The Lighthouse Song (2025)
by Millbrig
The second track released in 2025 is The Lighthouse Song. Penny adapted a pen and ink print reflecting the history of industrial expansion in her original artwork, and the song has a nautical theme which somehow acts as a metaphor for navigating human relationships. Listening carefully, you can hear Morse code, so thanks to Dr Stephen C. Phillips for transposing Penny's lyrics.

Footsteps (2025)
by Millbrig
The third track released Autumn 2025 is suitably dark and witchy, reflecting how the human imagination can distort in the early hours before dawn, becoming uncannily close to Nature. There are multiple instances where heavier rock music indicates that Millbrig feet are either walking in a new musical direction, or returning to a rockier past... and the surreal hauntings of gothic horror.
